aartika! is the name chosen both for this website and Tina Oloyede's internet persona.
This website was started in October 1999 to display a few fractal images Tina had created using some early fractal-generating programs, such as Ultra Fractal, Tierazon and Sterlingware.
Since, it has had several facelifts, and now displays over 500 of Tina's fractal artworks, created mainly using the program Ultra Fractal written by Frederik Slijkerman, now in its fourth version.
There are appoximately 35 fractal
galleries, free
screensavers to download, and the opportunity to buy high quality, large-format
limited edition prints,
as well as greetings cards and
wall calendars. Tina's artwork is also available for
licensing and
corporate art and she is willing to accept new
commissions.
By the nature of its content, the site is very image intensive, and may be slow to download - please be patient! We hope you enjoy your visit, and find time to send us your comments and feedback.
Some meanings of the name "aartika" ...
"The name of Aartika gives you an appreciation for many beautiful and refined aspects of life - music and art, literature, drama, and the outdoors, where you find much peace and relaxation, but it creates a far too sensitive nature. You sense and feel much that you do not understand, and sometimes you are alarmed at your thoughts and wonder about their origin. You rarely experience the tranquility that comes with stability of thinking or emotional control. At times, you are very inspired, desiring to be with people and to entertain others as the "life of the party," while at other times you are aloof and choose to remove yourself entirely from association. You crave understanding and affection but your intensity of desire and your self-consciousness prevent you from finding the happiness you desire. You have suffered many disappointments and misunderstandings because of your inability to express your inner thoughts."
... and ...
"Bearers of this name are odd persons of saturnine temper. They are often philosophers and mystics at heart. They tire easily of a bustling and hasty life, love to think all alone and hate light-mindedness. Quite often they are devoid of commercialism and a thirst for comfort. Having keen intelligence, they can easily synthesize facts and draw unexpected conclusions from them. Somewhat mysterious, sometimes very pessimistic, they tend to be disillusioned and are inclined to believe that they are better than others."
